There lived an old woman in China.

کے پاس دو مٹکے تھے. دونوں مٹکے بانس کے ڈنڈے کے ایک ایک کنارے پہ لٹکے ہوے تھے. بڑھیا بانس کو اپنی گردن کے پیچھے سے گزار کر کندھوں کے سہارے ڈنڈا پکڑا کرتی تھی. ایک مٹکے میں ہلکا سا چھید تھا جب کہ دوسرا ملکا بلکل ٹھیک تھا ہر روز
بر بُڑھیا چشمے سے پانی بھر کے لاتی

تھی مگر جس مٹکے میں چھید تھا اس کا پانی گھر پہنچتے پہنچتے ره جاتا تھا۔ دو سال تک یہ سلسلہ جاری رہا۔ صحیح سلامت مٹکے کو اپنے اوپر ناز و غرور ہونے لگا کہ وہ پورا پانی لاتا ہے جبکہ چھید والا مٹکا
بیچاره شرمندہ رہنے لگا کیونکہ اس کا پانی آدھا رہ جاتا تھا. آخر چهید والے مٹکے نے ایک دن ہمت کر کہ بڑھیا سے کہا کے وہ اسے تبدیل کروا کر کوئی صحیح سلامت مٹکا لے لے. چونکہ اس میں چھید ہے اس لئے وہ پانی لانے کہ قابل نہیں ہے۔ بُڑھیا نے یہ سنا تو مسکرانے لگی اور بولی کیا تم نے غور نہیں کیا کہ تمہاری طرف والے راستے کتنے خوبصورت پھول آگے ہیں؟ مجھے معلوم تھا کہ تم میں چھید ہے، لہذا میں
تمہاری طرف والے راستے میں پھولوں کے بیچ ڈال دیے تھے، اور جب تم اس راستے سے گزرتے تھے تو تمہارا پانی ان پھولوں کے بیجوں پہ پڑتا رہا اور دیکھو! آج کتنے خوبصورت اور رنگ برنگے پھول صرف تمہاری وجہ سے اگ آے ہیں اور مجھے بھی زیادہ محنت نہیں کرنا پڑی. میں ان سب پھولوں کہ گلدستے بنا کر اپنا گھر سجاؤں گی۔ میں تمہارے بغیر یہ سب نہیں کر سکتی تھی. ہر کسی میں کوئی نہ کوئی خوبی اور خامی ضرور ہوتی ہے مگر اصل مزہ تو یہ ہے کہ آپ کسی کی خامی کو کس طرح خوبی میں تبدیل کرتے ہیں
